Lemon Lavender Martini
I love ALL things lavender, but I especially love a lavender cocktail. Even though I live in LA, a cocktail like this is a bit hard to find. So, I figured I would just create my own. This drink is floral, tart and sweet, all at the same time. Plus, it’s super pretty.
- 4 oz vodka
- 2 oz lavender simple syrup (recipe below)
- 3 lemons, juiced
- Dried edible flowers
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Pour in vodka, simple syrup and lemon juice then shake, shake, shake! Pour into 2 cocktail glasses and garnish with dried edible flowers (I buy these at World Market).
Lavender Simple Syrup
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup dried culinary lavender (Here is my go-to)
To make the lavender simple syrup, mix 1 cup of sugar and one cup of water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Mix until sugar is dissolved and then remove from heat. Add in dried lavender (make sure its Food Grade) and allow to cool. Then strain and refrigerate until ready to use.
